Oh, How I LOVE My Photo Printer - and No PC Required!

Buy it, but know what you're getting
For a relatively low price, this is a reliable, competent, photo printer. It's quick, colors are accurate, no problem handling photo paper. Also, as is true with many (such as older HP's), but not all, color printers, if you run out of one color you can buy a replacement cartridge for just that... Read full review »
Good overall printer, not great for photos.
I got this printer about 8 months ago and it's been very good. For printing regular stuff it's fast and neat.
Printing digital camera photos to borderless 4x6 photo paper works great, but the output is a bit grainy. Not comparable to real photographs, that's for sure. The LCD panel user...

Great.....for the first 18 months
Great printing out of the box. I agree with others that you must do excessive deep cleanings to keep the heads clean. (wastes ink and paper)

After 1 year its a piece of junk
Worked great for 18 months. Now it streaks and bands full page prints despite multiple cleanings, deep cleanings and print head adjustments. Of course, the warranty is only for one year. How convenient. It still prints out 4x6 prints OK for some reason. I would highly recommend that NO ONE buy this... Read full review »
Fast; Good Quality Prints
This printer is a bargain, but not without a few faults. Previously I've owned only HP's. The biggest negative in the comparison is the inkjet versus the bubble jet cartridges. The HP units are user friendly, the Cannon are less so.

Great Photos, but excessive nozzle cleanings
Bought this printer 9 months ago for our office and have had to clean the print nozzles almost daily. It does not warn you when they need cleaning, you only find that out after you've printed. Canon S530D is superior to my past HP Ink Jets
After upgrading to Windows XP Pro, I discovered that my HP 1120C Ink Jet was not supported by Windows and HP refused to provide support under XP (my IBM Scanner was also no longer supported, so I replaced it with a Canon CanoScan LIDE). No more HP printers for me.

Works great except one major problem
This printer has worked very well, but for one serious problem. Just about every time we want to print something, we have to run "deep cleaning" cycle.
