Cons OS Not as effecient as Palm..

Before I begin talking about why I like my new IPAQ 3835, let me start off by saying I have been an avid Palm user for the past four years and switching to a Pocket PC was no easy task (no pun intended). A few weeks ago my Palm Vx gave out. During the past few years I have had a Palm III, a Palm... Read full review »

Compaq proves that they learn from experience. The 3800 series really exhibits a refinement and improvement on former models. Having upgraded from the 3765 the immediate improvements are obvious.

The first is a round stylus. Formerly you could only put the stylus in its holster one way --... Read full review »

Pros Full of features - Pocket PC 2002, SD expansion slot
Cons Heavy, expensive, poor battery life, no built in CF slot
Recommended it? No

I've owned well over 10 PDAs, and the iPaq 3835 is perhaps the most full-featured of all of them. If you're looking for something that nearly replaces your notebook computer, look no further. If you're looking for a PDA, you may want to think again.

Pros Durability, looks, battery life, available software, memory capacity, beautiful display.
Cons Synchronizing with desktop machines can be hit and miss. Cheesy protective cover.

I won't regurgitate the other fine information I've seen in my peer reviewers' notes, because for the most part I would agree with what they've observed; except for some obviously subjective issues such as battery life (depends on your intended use - I only need to recharge every 2-3 days and I... Compaq's new 3835 series iPAQ handhelds bring new meaning to color in handhelds. They boast a 16-bit (65k color) Color Reflective TFT display and is bright enough to see clearly outside on a sunny day. Compaq has also improved the battery life by about 20% (approximately 14 hours total on time)... Read full review »

If you're reading this review, you're probably considering purchasing a new PDA, so I'll focus on the strengths and weaknesses of this unit, as I see them after using the unit heavily for the past 5-months.

iPAQ's are coming along, but still have some glitches to remove. After having a 3600 series which ALWAYS had dust behind the screen, and had a scratch preventing proper text recognition, I welcomed the opportunity to upgrade to the 3835. Out of the box the unit looked wonderful, and even came with... Read full review »
