Pros great writing, suspenseful, great visual imagery
Cons predictable in spots
Recommended it? Yes

In The Line of Fire is a suspense-filled thriller about the Secret Service. In contrast to the film Murder at 1600, which I also recently viewed, the Secret Service here is portrayed in a much better light; having a responsibility beyond covering up for the President and his family.

In the Line of Fire is a quality film where presentation is everything. While it has a pretty standard plot, what keeps this movie from devolving into a typical B-movie action thriller that you can catch any given night on local TV is the intelligent storytelling provided by Director Wolfgang... In The Line Of Fire is directed by Wolfgang Peterson, the genius director who brought us The Neverending Story, Das Boot, Air Force One, Outbreak, and most recently - The Perfect Storm. Every one of his movies kicks butt and is very well done. In The Line Of Fire is no exception.
