Has some issues with focusing

bynasj Jun 1, 2004
5 Helpfuls 6 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Camera appeared cute enough; did not really end up testing it out fully
Cons Consistent focusing issues in non-brightly lit areas.
Recommended it? No

Very cute camera, but we found it completely unable to focus in quite a wide variety of situations. We could not get the camera to take any pictures that were even remotely in focus at either a children's dinner, a cocktail party or in our apartment (just basic room shots).

We thought... Read full review »

Pros Picture quality. Very small. Stylish
Cons Could have larger LCD. Some issues with USB connection.
Recommended it? Yes

Bought the Blue version for $175. Used it for about a month now. Takes very good pictures. Which is probably what's this camera has best.

I had some issues with USB connection. I have a card reader, so I don't use it much anyway. However, I had to return it the first time for exchange... Read full review »

Minolta has another winner here

byjoegallagher Sep 17, 2004
3 Helpfuls 4 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Small size
Cons not enough features, auto focus, small LCD, weak flash

I purchased the camera in early August and have used it quite a bit, especially since it truely is a take anywhere size. I have the Minolta A1 as my primary camera but sometimes you don't want to have to lug around the bulky SLR-type frame - that's where the XG comes in to play. Since the XG is... Read full review »

Absolutely Perfect!

byishoppertwo Jun 25, 2004
3 Helpfuls 4 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Size, Battery, Shutter speed, Countless features
Cons Screen could be a little bigger.
Recommended it? Yes

I purchased this camera and the Casio Exilim EX-Z40 to do a comparison, to decide which one to keep.

My hunch told me I needed to view the picture quality on my computer, so I took them both home.

I took the EXACT same pictures one after the other with each model, then viewed... Read full review »

The Camera Is Great

bymegrock Apr 26, 2004
3 Helpfuls 4 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Has all the features I'll ever use and more, great photos.
Cons None
Recommended it? Yes

Other reviews have accurately described this camera as great. I agree. For quality, ease of use and clarity of photos, it is a real gem. An article in a national leading newspaper recently compared this 3.2 megapixel camera with 3 other mini digital cameras, the 4.2 megapixel Pentax Optio S4, the 4... Read full review »

Pros Simple to use
Cons Needs a soft case or bundled with carrying case..
Recommended it? Yes

Currently I'm using Xi for nearly a year. After the simplicity and the easiness of use grab my attention I decided to buy myself an Xg. The Xi was bought by my office for work use.
I like the fact that the start-up time was quite fast and the non-protruding lens let me take pictures soon after... Read full review »

Great quality for a true pocket camera

bysteve0296 Dec 8, 2004
2 Helpfuls 3 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Small size, easy to use, great battery life.
Cons No case included. Optional case has a huge belt clip.
Recommended it? Yes

I've been really happy with this camera. My previous digital camera, an Olympus, had a menu system that was extremely difficult to navigate and an agonizing long shutter delay. The Minolta's controls are simple and intuitive. The shutter lag is acceptable. Battery life is excellent. With the zoom... Read full review »

I bought the camera three weeks ago, and it has been just great. It is compact, versatile and user-friendly. What a find. I used it at a wedding to supplement the video camera, and it worked fabulously. I'll recommend it to anyone. Read full review »

I can't say enough good things about this product (Minolta Dimage Xg). I've own several digital cameras and this is by far the best one. Purchased from Dell.com for $254.

I love the fact that the only external moving part is the lens protector that automatically shut it self when you turn... Read full review »
