Verizon Motorola Droid ~ Worth the Wait

byamyk49 Nov 10, 2009

Pros QWERTY keyboard, brilliant display, free GPS, video, Google interace, changeable battery
Cons Camera took a little practice
Recommended it? Yes

I've been a satisfied Verizon customer for years.  I loved the network and customer service enough to stick with an older, limited LG cell phone, while secretly lusting after the iPhone.  I checked out the Blackberry Storm, but just didn't like it, so I decided to wait and see if Verizon would... Pros Excellent OS with flexible interface. Easy to use and setup.
Cons A little bulky and battery life could be better.
Recommended it? Yes

I recently acquired the Motorola Droid smartphone from work after a co-worker left the company. You can say being in IT has it's little perks. So since it was used, I didn't get all the accessories that usually come in the box (AC adapter and manuals). But the old Micro USB chargers that came with... Read full review »

Does DROID Really Do What iDon't?

bybigtruckseries Nov 6, 2009

Pros Arguably the best, most responsive Android device.
Cons Individual features do not reach the bar set by "other" touchscreen phones.
Recommended it? Yes

I didn’t want to start off this review labeling the Motorola DROID yet another in a long list of failed wannabe iPhone killers,  but, they’ve pretty much done that to themselves. I didn’t even know about this phone until I started seeing commercials being run telling about... Read full review »

Many of you probably remember the commercials for the Motorola Droid when it first came out. They made this phone seem like the best thing on the whole entire earth. They compared it to the iPhone 3g and how the droid had so many extra features.
PROS:One of the best features was that it is for... Read full review »

What good is a phone that can't function as a phone?

bybennyzmom2 Nov 25, 2010

Pros Pocket sized computer, great apps!
Cons TOO MUCH BLOATWARE (ADWARE) using resources/bandwidth.
Recommended it? No

Unfortunately they released the Droid 2 about a month after I got this phone. I sent it back within a month of buying it because NO ONE could hear anything I was saying (really mad that no one mentioned it until after my 30 days had passed-too late for me to switch models). I had people hang up on... Read full review »

I got the Droid on the launch day even though I was only planning on testing it out at the Verizon store.

I was getting tired of my Blackberry Pearl. Even though it was very capable as a phone and email device, the web experience was very poor. I tried checking some prices of some items in a... Read full review »

Okay so, where do I begin this journey down the competition highway?  Should I invoke the Holy War that always seems to follow Apple?  Or maybe I should paint this as the battle for our freedom like Google would have us... Read full review »

iPhone v. Droid? Droid = Google user

Cons less apps than the iPhone, less polish

I know the question on everyone's mind is whether the Droid is a better choice than the iPhone. The iPhone is the gold standard when it comes to smartphones, but your usage patterns may make the Droid better for you. As my review title indicates, the Droid is the best solution if you are a heavy... Read full review »

I bought the Motorola Droid at the Verizon store about two weeks ago, and have been familiarizing myself with some of its features and abilities, and I have to say that it's amazing.  The Droid runs the Google Android operating system, and it has features that seem like they're out of science... I received this Motorola Droid Smartphone as a birthday present last September, I was very much excited back then, because it's my first smartphone ever! Initially, I was amazed by the features, it's easy to set up, and the instructions are comprehensible for first time users like me. I also love... Read full review »
