Your pencils are creating a health hazard. I could fall and pierce an organ.
There are very few television shows I follow religiously, but I have recently found myself addicted to The Office. After catching repeats of most episodes from recent seasons on TV I needed to know how it all began, so I obtained and thoroughly enjoyed Season One of this unique and very funny show... Steve Carell Bumbles Through The Office - Season One
I first heard about The Office after it started airing in 2005. I only saw a little bit of a few episodes at that point and I saw more every so often over the next few years. I started seeing more of the older episodes in the last several months and I have been enjoying the show. ... Read full review »
The Office Starts Out Strong and Leaves This M*A*S*H Fan Smiling
For some time now, I've been bemoaning the lack of decent sit-coms on the air. The Simpsons is still consistently funny, but it's also been on the air for twenty years. A couple months ago, I would have said that the only recent sit-coms that really tickle my funny bone are Everybody Hates Chris... Read full review »
Genesis of a great comedy
I'm somewhat uppity when it comes to Americans imposing themselves on British entertainment franchises, so I protested this version of the Office for a good long time. Sources I trust first exposed me to the American version and I've never regretted it. My girlfriend had thus far been left behind... Read full review »
One Show I Can't Miss
To get it out of the way early, yes this show is a remake of the British version and it's a very good version. Pardon me for saying so and I'll probably incur the wrath of many, but I consider it even better than the original. But that's also perhaps because I saw this before the BBC version and my... Take a Memo
This American version of "The Office" was filmed with exceeding high expectations and then put on hold once that other American translation with high expectation managed to bomb out after only 4 episodes aired: and that was "Coupling." NBC bosses waited for the right time to showcase their own... Read full review »
The Office
I had heard about this show for a long time. Working in a pretty playful place I had even heard some of the lines shouted out in glee sometimes ("That's what she said!"). Eventually I caught some re-runs on tv and couldn't stop laughing. Intrigued, I went out and got the first... Read full review »
Office Season One, start to the best.
The Office: Season one is the start to the best new series on television. It's a fun watch for people who just want to sit down and have a good laugh. It starts out with you getting to know the characters and what they do. Dwight as the crazy guy who Jim plays jokes on. Pam the Hott... Read full review »
Always a Classic
The Office is one of my favorite shows, and this season captures exactly why.
Rewatching the DVDs brings back all the good memories from the beginning of the show. The plot is not as heavy as the later seasons and the characters still have their original attributes. The pilot is my favorite...

Worth the purchase - You'll watch more than once
I don't buy a lot of DVD's because there is rarely a movie or show I want to watch enough times to justify the purchase. The Office Season One is an exception. If you like The Office, you will appreciate having these first episodes to watch whenever you wish. After three seasons, the characters at... Read full review »

Office - Season One DVD
Based on the popular British comedy of the same name THE OFFICE takes place in and around the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company in Scranton Pennsylvania. Using the same mockumentary style as the original the series succeeds in capturing the quiet desperation of the poor souls working in this socially stifling environment under the direction of delusional boss regional manager Michael Scott. Comic actor Steve Carell beautifully inhabits the role playing a man so eager to be liked he completely alienates people with one stupid antic after another. Blindly believing himself beloved by his employees for his laid-back nature Michael fails to see that with the exception of nerdy and bizarre Dwight Rainn Wilson he is resented and despised by all. Meanwhile Jim woos engaged receptionist Pam while both navigate the office politics and "humor" of boss Scott. Carell perfectly walks the line between despicable and pathetic enlisting his audience's sympathies just moments before doing or saying something horribly inappropriate. THE OFFICE may be a remake but it has charms of its very own.
