5 Games Old and New Tried and True Never Get Board

Some of my fondest memories are of family game night. Monopoly, Clue, Scabble, Sorry and Candyland are some of my favorites and remain so even today. Everyone from the grandparents to my preschooler can play these games that are old games that have become new again; games that are tried and true again.

No need to get "board" with these updates to some of your family favorite board games.

Remember playing these board games?

Remember when Monopoly used to take hours and hours to play and you needed a calculator to help you determine the costs of hotels and what you owed the bank. There has been a revolution in board games and Monopoly Revolution has a new look and updated pricing as well as sound effects and an electronic bank to give you everything you loved about the original game of Monopoly, and nothing that used to keep you from playing it.

The Game of Life: 50th Anniversary Edition, it's hard to think that I began playing this game when I was the age of my children now.  The commemorative edition includes the experiences in the original version that keep the game moving right along like going to college, getting married and having children and combines it with golden accents and Life coins.

Habro's Trivial Pursuit puts your mind and memory to work and in the Trivial Pursuit Bet You Know It Edition get new questions and answers prompted by images and even use multiple choice answers to help you make your way through the game.  Don't know the answer? In this edition, challenge your opponent, place bets and win in more ways than one.

It was Colonel Mustard, in the library with the candlestick. Play the game you remember full of mystery and intrigue but with high tech upgrades from an optional text messaging feature to ultra violet secret "decoder" ring in Clue: Secrets and Spies.

Family game night board games for the young and ol

Young to old will remember these games, many of them from the popular board game maker Hasbro. But now old becomes new again, and these board games with small upgrades become tried and true.

What was your favorite candy in the popular board game of Candyland?  I admit to loving the gum drops! In Candyland: The World of Sweets the classic look of the original candyland remains as it teaches children about counting, matching and playing well with others while taking turns down candyland lane.

Sorrrryyy
. . . your opponent says, and you know they really aren't as they knock you all the way back to start during this popular family board game. The exicting new upgrade on Sorry Spin includes a new rotating board that makes getting home even more challenging than before.

You sank my battleship! was a popular refrain in my household as both my brother or father would take turns as captain of their fleet during Battleship.  In U-Build Battleship customization is the name of the game with new and improved building and positioning of your fleet to make the game more challenging and entertaining.

BZZ, maybe you may want to consider a job other than a being a surgeon because both you and your "patient" are getting their funny bone tickled while playing Operation's Silly Skill Game. In the new and improved version of Operation chimes and buzzers meet bells and whistles as everyone competes to be the "top doc."

Next time you want some time together with the family or friends, go low tech and have some fun with these anything but boring, board games.
