Top 5 Gadgets of the Decade

Are you woefully behind the times? Do you waste time flipping through a paper Rolodex, using a non-digital camera or popping cassette tapes in your 1980s boom box?

It may be time to upgrade your electronics with one of the top gadgets of the decade. It doesn't matter if you consider the last decade as 1999-2009 or 2000-2010, either way the list is the same. Most of these gadgets are essential for staying connected to family and friends. They increase our productivity at work and make the life of any entrepreneur easier.

If you're one of those people who already have all of these great gadgets of the last decade, take a close look around at your family members. Is your favorite aunt still struggling with programming the time on her VCR? Are your children the only ones in the neighborhood without a motion-detecting video game system? Consider the top gadgets of the decade your shopping list this year, and spread the joy of technology around to family and friends. These gadgets make great holiday gifts as well as much-appreciated birthday gifts, any time of year.

iPod

Sure, you can say the MP3 player is one of the greatest gadgets of the decade, but you'd only be partially right. Few products have inspired the masses as much as the iPod. Not since the Sony Walkman has a consumer product changed the way we live. Ask anyone you know under the age of 15 what their must-have gadget is. Unless one is already in their possession, the answer will be the iPod.

Other generations can also benefit from the iPod. CDs and cassette tapes take up too much space and you cannot organize the music the way you want. The iPod lets you create your own play lists for relaxing or for work outs. It's one gadget you cannot live without.

BlackBerry

BlackBerry is one of the tastiest smart phones of the decade. It doesn't matter if you like Titanium, Pearl or love to fire up your Torch. Unless you have an iPhone (stay tuned), you need to have a BlackBerry. These phones have not earned the nickname of "Crackberry" by accident. Anyone who has one can attest they are addicted to it. Even if they say they use it "just for work" you will rarely find a BlackBerry turned off.

iPhone

It's not Apple's fault that they create products people desire. With the iPod and the iPhone they made products that tapped into something universal. They created a demand for products we can't live without.

Wii

What was Nintendo's answer to complaints about video games turning children and teens into couch potatoes? The Wii. The Wii changed the way individuals play video games, by turning the endeavor into more of a shared experience. Add some physical activity to the mix, and the Wii became on of the top gadgets of the decade.

Digital Cameras

The digital camera, which could not be purchased for less than $500 10 years ago is now an affordable gadget for the masses. Gone are the days of bringing film to be processed, waiting, paying a lot of money only to find out your pictures came out blurry or too dark. The digital camera gave more control to the user and saved us all pockets full of money spent on bad photo.
